Wear parts do not fail by surprise, they wear out. Knowing which parts sit in which machine and when they are changed allows sourcing them in time and in bundles.

Structure of a wear parts list

Per machine, filters, belts, seals, bearings, brushes, nozzles and similar parts belong in the list, each with type designation, installation point, quantity and change interval. The interval comes from the operating manual or from your own experience.

The maintenance plan links the list to dates. This creates demand that is visible weeks in advance. Identical parts of several machines can then be bundled in one order.

What a request based on a wear parts list should contain

  • list with type, maker and quantity per item
  • machine and installation point per item
  • planned change date or delivery date
  • marking of urgent items
  • contact person for queries
