Automation

With sensors, control components and industrial interfaces, more than the product family matters. Signal type, supply, communication protocol, connection and version level can determine whether a part can be used in an existing plant.

Please therefore state the full manufacturer and type code and add any available data sheets. For replacement purchases, details of the existing control environment and the previous version are also helpful. Components with a safety function require a separate technical assessment; a similar designation does not confirm interchangeability.

Product families

These product families are listed on Traydon’s previous website. They are intended as guidance; whether a specific version can be sourced is clarified for each request.

  • Motors and drives, including synchronous and asynchronous motors
  • Linear systems
  • Controls, including CNC controls for milling and mill-turn machines and machining centres
  • Sensors and switches
  • Linear encoders (sealed and exposed) and angle encoder modules
  • Rotary encoders, touch probes and probing systems for workpiece and tool measurement
  • Laser systems and measuring equipment

The condition of goods (new, used, reconditioned or compatible replacement) and their origin are stated per item in the quotation.

Typical applications

For guidance only, not as a statement of suitability:

  • Replacing measuring and control components on machine tools
  • Replacement sensors and drives in automated plants
  • Components for conversions and retrofits

What we need for a request

The more complete the details, the more clearly the required version can be identified. Not every detail is available for every part – send whatever you have.

DetailWhat it is used for
Manufacturer and full type codeUnambiguous identification
Supply voltageElectrical connection
Signal type and outpute.g. analogue, digital, interface signal
Interface or protocolCommunication with the existing control system
Firmware and hardware levelCompatibility with the existing environment
Connection and cableConnector type, cable length
Safety function yes/noRequires a separate technical assessment
Measuring length, resolution, accuracy gradeFor linear and angle measuring systems

Documents, photos and nameplate

  • Photo of the nameplate or label showing the version
  • Designation of the existing control system
  • Data sheet or an extract from the machine documentation
  • Required quantity

How your request is handled

  1. Send your requirement: provide a part number, a photo of the nameplate, a drawing or a parts list.
  2. Clarification of details and sourcing options: we review your information and get back to you if anything is unclear.
  3. Response and, where applicable, a quotation: you receive a response to your request. A request is not an order.

We do not quote general processing or delivery times. Dates are agreed for each individual request.

What we do not promise across the board

  • Use of an alternative without technical approval by you or the person responsible for the plant.
  • Interchangeability of components with a safety function.
  • Programming or parameterisation.
  • Deliveries abroad are subject to review under export control and sanctions regulations.

Installation and commissioning of the machines and systems we supply are available on request.

Frequently asked questions

Does the revision have to match?

Often, yes. Firmware or hardware levels can change functions and interfaces. State the level of the previous component; whether a different revision is acceptable requires a technical assessment.

May an alternative be used without technical approval?

No. Whether an alternative may be used in your plant is decided by you or the person responsible for the plant. We only request alternatives if you explicitly ask for them, and we label them as such.

Can I send a request without a complete part number?

Yes. Describe the part, provide the details you have and attach a photo of the nameplate or a drawing. Incomplete items are taken on for clarification, not silently completed.

Where can I find information on a specific delivery date?

Delivery dates depend on the version, the source of supply and the quantity. They are stated in the quotation or in the response to the respective request, not as a general figure on this website.
