The nameplate is the most important source of information when a component has to be replaced. Copying or photographing it completely avoids queries and shortens the way to a quotation.

What a nameplate shows

Almost every nameplate states the maker, the type designation and a serial or works number. The type designation describes the design, the serial number the individual unit. For variants with special equipment, often only the serial number leads to the exact version.

Technical ratings are added: for motors voltage, current, power, speed and frequency, for gearboxes the ratio, for pumps flow rate and head or pressure. These values show whether a successor type fits when the original is no longer available.

How to carry the nameplate into your request

  • photo of the whole plate, sharp and without glare
  • type designation and serial number also as text
  • photo of the installed part with connections and mounting
  • if the plate is illegible: describe dimensions and installation
  • required quantity and requested delivery date
