The main ratings

Profile rail guides consist of a rail and carriages with balls or rollers. For the replacement, size, carriage type with flange or narrow and short or long, preload class and accuracy class matter. Carriage and rail should match each other, often from the same maker.

Ball screws are designated by nominal diameter and lead, for example 32 × 10 millimetres. Nut type, preload, accuracy class and the machining of the screw ends are added, which usually requires a drawing.

What a request for linear components should contain

  • type designation of carriage, rail or screw
  • size, rail length or screw length
  • preload and accuracy class
  • drawing of the screw ends
  • quantity and requested delivery date
